10th Cebu Steemians Basketball Meetup

in #meetup7 years ago

Hi Everyone!

Last night we had our 10th Cebu Steemians Basketball Meetup and at the same time we had a new venue at the basketball court in the Corinthians Subdivision in Basak, Lapu-Lapu City. This is the fourth basketball court Cebu Steemians had played on, the month of April especially during the last weeks and also the month of May is very hectic wherein almost all basketball courts are being reserved with lots of basketball games usually of those basketball games are being set up since this month of May there is a Barangay and SK elections here in the Philippines and traditional politicians would do lots of events and one of those are doing basketball leagues for the youth. And those moves you know what they are after from the youth. Moving forward, last week we had played a friendly games at the basketball court in Sunberry Homes.

Last night’s games are all friendly games wherein we started at 10 people playing including me (my intent was to be the scorer of that game and just sit at the bench since I’m a bit tired from the Youth Outing of my sitio). Those ten Cebu Steemians are as follows: @jassennessaj, @reyarobo, @natz04, @sorenkierkegaard, @melsmacan, @bubburton, @philip.pino21, @jassennessaj’s friend Ubas, @jbeguna04 (I called him “Boy with Homecourt advantage” since that basketball court is near to his house and it is where he plays basketball, and that name calling was right since he was knocking down lots of three pointers last night) and yours truly @josephace135. During that first game, @jumargachomiano officiated and was himself the scorer at the same time. When @dexter24 and @aiyeecanoy arrived, I asked @dexter24 to substitute for me, and I was like playing 5 minutes that time and was able to shoot 2 three pointers but unfortunately both are way off the mark. So the following game I officiated together with @jbeguna04 since he also ask for substitution and @aiyeecanoy replaced him. After the second game, our chairperson in College of Engineering arrived at the venue and at the same time Axil Dave Reyes arrived at the venue. To conclude, there 4 games played last night, when I officiated I call the two teams by the color of their jerseys, so team black and team white. Team black won the first two games whereas team white won the last two games. Team black was composed of @melsmacan, @bobburton, @philip.pino21, @reyarobo, @dexter24, Axil Dave Reyes and yours truly, @josephace135. As for team white they are lead by @jassennessaj, @jassennessaj’s buddy Ubas, @sorenkierkegaard, @jbeguna04, @aiyeecanoy, @natz04 and Sir Kads (chairperson of College of Engineering).

After the ball game, we took a groufie before we start our journey back to our respective homes.

Hopefully, we will be having more Cebu Steemians in our next meetups, we know that most of them are busy with lots of fiesta and basketball leagues due to the season of elections here in Philippines.

I guess that would be all.

Much love and respect.

Seems fun. Glad you're still going on with your basketball meetup :)

Yeah, its still going on @themarshann. You’ve just come back after a period of dormancy, right?

Sort of, yes. I'm still trying to find my way back, but the urge to stick around will be there soon, I hope. 😅
