Meditation If You Are too Busy: Day 17 of 30 Days to a New You

Yes!

Yesterday I put a post about celebrating your small successes and I mentioned how I wanted to get back into meditation. One of the things I have been telling myself about that is that I don't have the time for it.

Of course I do actual have the physical time for it, just haven't been able to push myself to do it.

I spoke to one of my good motivational friends yesterday. He is really into self improvement and doing some out there things to improve himself.

When I was working from home we spent a lot of time on the phone. Setting up the day by agreeing goals and talking about techniques to improve our mindset and health.

He introduced me to meditation (in particular the technique taught in Zivaminds) but I'm sure there are a lot of other meditation training you can try.

Very simply. If you want to meditate you want to try to clear your mind while closing your eyes. Some training will talk about using a mantra or sound. Ohm for example. The idea being that by concentrating on one thing you are closer to nothing

Anyway I asked him when he did his mediation in the morning. It is suggested to do it twice a day but I'm going for once for the moment.

He told me he did it as soon as he woke up.

So I set my alarm for 15 minutes earlier today. I woke up, shook myself alert, sat up in bed, set my stopwatch and meditated.

So even before I left for work I had completed 3 small tasks which are designed to help me feel like I have achieved something regardless what the day throws at me.

Maybe you can try it tomorrow?

Great motivation! I‘ve found using a technique I like has helped me stick to daily meditations- my favorite is Tai Chi. Feel free to check out my blog for some various techniques, maybe you’ll find one you like! Best.
