The basic techniques and objectives of meditation
With the concept of meditation in general terms, a sign, probably, everyone. But to the question: what it is, few will answer.
All sorts of varieties and techniques of meditation there are so many. Here are some of them: the classic Buddhist Zen meditation, mindfulness Meditation, Metta meditation, Vipassana Meditation, Mantra meditation, yoga Meditation, Transcendental, Tantric, Meditation Kundalini for opening the third eye, Trataka, Satipatthana, Anapanasati.
This is not a complete list of various spiritual practices. To individually consider here, we will not. Consider just the notion.
In the minds of the majority of inhabitants densely populated of the stereotype that to meditate is just to sit in the Lotus position, in this case, allegedly, completely abandoning any thoughts. But it's not quite the right idea of the process. After all, to abandon thoughts of the brain cannot in principle! It also exists to think.
The brain simply can not be otherwise, no matter how you tried! The purpose of meditation to clear the brain from unnecessary thoughts, but not all completely. Clearing your mind of negativity and worldliness, we thereby purify his soul. That is the true purpose of meditation, no matter what varieties and technology. A technique to find everyone can do for themselves and their individual preferences.
Another goal of meditation is to concentrate and focus your attention on something concrete, drowning out all else. But the human mind will only expand, as strange as it may sound.
Another purpose of these spiritual practices is the quest for self – knowledge and spiritual perfection. Shutting out unnecessary thoughts man becomes closer to himself. Open spiritual potential, which in ordinary worldly conditions, scored all sorts of debris from unwanted thoughts and negative emotions. Meditation enables a person to feel himself, his soul and heart, and get rid of everything alien that was forced upon him from outside. My heart to know God, the Supreme universal absolute, to know which is possible only on a spiritual level, not the human mind.
