Nostalgia stimulates positive effects for the person
Brain regions stimulated when displaying images associated with nostalgia.
Scientists have for the first time recorded a picture of the interaction of nostalgia feelings—for something specific or past—in the brain, using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). They suggested that it may be associated with positive effects.
The study was conducted by the University of Surrey and the National Trust in Britain.
The researchers recorded a major burst of activity in the brain amygdala—a part of the brain that plays a key role in the processing of emotions—and other brain regions when images of personal places were shown to participants rather than objects classified as important.
The research suggested that exposure to things such as childhood memories or summer holidays stimulates mental and emotional changes that improve a person’s health.
This study may mean that you have to feel more nostalgic, which may have positive effects on you.

So if you can’t afford antidepressants, at least go out to see the next Star Wars movie?
Instead of buying anti depressants spend time or get the help to understand what was making you feel that way in the first place. Use Introspection. Logic. Reason. Focus on the root cause of problems not the symptoms. Hope this helps
