RE: Do you think that mass shooting in America is not a gun control issue?
Because they like invoking the part in the Constitution of the right to bear arms.
Because they say they feel a lot safer having one around because criminals have access to guns and they need to protect their family.
Because it is a hobby to a lot of people.
I come from a family that was comfortable owning guns. I owned a rifle and a colt handgun. From time to time I would shoot in a shooting range to blow off steam.
I remember getting into a vehicular accident and instinctively reach out for my gun. It scared me. Having access to guns may have given me a false sense of courage and safety because if it came to it I could shoot somebody because I was defending myself. I got rid of it.
In light of all the shootings that happened it is high time to rethink gun control. It was trending earlier that POTUS Trump was extending thoughts and prayers and people are voicing out that what we need is reform and action. I go with them. Something needs to be done.
To all that has suffered. Extending a virtual hug.
Thanks for sharing your sharing your thoughts and experience. Reform is certainly required. We should come up with something that ensures at least that guns are not accessible to criminals and guns are not accessible to mentally sick. Guns are even dangerous for those who keep them for their safety because there are moments even in normal peoples' lives when they just want to kill themselves or someone and they don't have access to guns that is a gift to them. Yes, things should be rethought.
