Into Marrakesh
Are you planning to go to Marrakesh? Know where to stay
If you never visited Marrakesh, you might fall in love with the centenary architecture, history, colors, the smells of the spices in the souks. Well, we were in Marrakesh and we loved it!
There is plenty of hotels and riads to choose from everywhere in the city but there is an ultra-privileged location: the famous Jemaa el-Fna square.
In the sourrings of Jemaa el-Fna square you will find from low-cost riad to 5 stars hotels and in both situations you might find very good quality and very welcoming people. The riad is usually a kind of guest house were usually you can meet the comfort of a bed with traditional buildings, local culture and the long-established tasty cuisine.
If you want to stay in the heart of Marrakesh, an hotel or riad inside the medina (the old town) is the best to experience the culture and the amazing fusion of the tradition mixed in the cosmopolitan city.
Jemaa el-Fna Square.
The Jemaa el-Fna square is one of the great centers of commerce in Marrakesh. There’s where you can find the biggest Souk in Marrakesh, a huge traditional market where you can find almost everything from clothing, scarves, jewelry, spices and every kinds of crafts. In the square, you will find a lot of vans selling food and delicious orange juice during the day and dozens of small restaurants during the night.
It also has many vans of delicious orange juice, among with street artists, monkeys wearing CR7 shirt and lots of snake charmers.
Marrakesh - a very fashionable city
In Marrakesh you can find this amazing contrast and fusion between the Arab culture, tradition and fashion. If you like fashion, you will find a strong presence of every fashion luxury brand in Marrakesh. This was also where of a very well know fashion designer used to find inspiration: Yves Saint Laurent. He used to travel from Paris to Marrakesh and stay in his villa for long periods of time to find inspiration. Yves Saint Laurent once said “Marrakesh taught me color” and I guess I agree a lot with that.
Later in 1980, Yves Saint Laurent bought the botanical garden Majorelle Garden where you also can find the Islamic Art Museum and once again a beautiful fusion of Islamic Art, color and many exotic plants, fountains and birds.
Marrakesh is a very romantic destination, the ideal for a romantic and in love couple!
