The president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, has been opposed to postponing or suspending league competition matches as requested by the AFE union and some clubs after the Government's decision to take place behind closed doors the next two days of the championship.

"Professional football does not stop because the Government has considered that it is enough to play behind closed doors. If the Government had considered it necessary to suspend the championship, it would have said so," said Tebas.

"The Government of Spain and the autonomous communities are the guarantors of the health of the fans and players in cases like these," explains the president of the employer in a message sent to various media.

"If the Government says that the competition must be suspended, it would be suspended," he adds to conclude.
