A blue paradise right in the middle of the golden green paddy fields. This is a place you must not miss if u are visiting my beautiful hometown - Alor Setar!

The blue lagoon is the latest city attraction which situated near another hotspot for cave hikings - Gunung Keriang (the crystal hill). The lagoon was a man-made lake initially for industrial purpose but the project somehow was abandoned. The locals believe that aqua-microbes had colonized the lake and therefore unintentionally created the crystal clear water with different shades of blue.

The more sunshine, the more shades of blue can be seen. The picture above was taken at 9am.

Since the blue lagoon is on a private site, it is not reachable via proper tar road nor road sign. I hereby giving a simple direction for those who wish to admire the beautiful scenery before the owner close the site down for good!

You may set ur location to a popular park name Taman Jubli Emas that is just 3minutes drive away from blue lagoon. Continue down the road and you will find a mosque on your right. Keep moving forward and take note of a long dirt path at your left BEFORE reaching Petronas Gunong (new).

I ignored the "no entry" sign and drove all the way (~1km) in till I reached the blue lagoon. You may try the same but at your own risk ya! 😜

Relaxing and taking pictures at the blue lagoon are favourable in the morning and evening. I would not recommend to visit at noon when the sun is striking hot as there are no shade at all.

Happy exploring!
