Red Lips and Rosy Cheeks ✨

in #makeup7 years ago (edited)

Today, I decided to go for a foolproof makeup look that is perfect for every occasion and goes with every outfit- red lips and rosy cheeks!

My face looks a lot more flushed in real life than it does in the photo though lol. I find that this look suits a lot of skin tones and is very feminine and bold at the same time. I've listed the products I used below in no particular order.

1. L'Oréal True Match Foundation (Gold Beige) - I'm a little bit tan right now since it's still Summer here in the Philippines (even though it feels like Summer all year long anyway) so I'm using a foundation that's a tad bit darker than my normal skin tone. Although I have pretty oily skin, I decided to use a foundation that's not matte since I want my skin to have a little bit of glow ✨

2. Happy Skin Matte About You Primer - Even though I wanted my skin to glow, I can never not use a mattifying primer 'cause my face would look like a ball of grease.

3. MAC Mineralize SkinFinish in Medium Golden - Not entirely sure what this powder is exactly for but I used it to set my face!

4. Maybelline Fit Me Conceraler in 25 Medium - This concealer provides ample coverage, is very blendable and doesn't cake up on my undereyes! Best of all, it doesn't break the bank.

5. Etude House Color My Brows Brow Tint #01 Rich Brown - I just had my hair recently lightened so I wanted to give my brows a lighter tint, too. I can't say this is the best brow tint in the market, though. I haven't tried a lot but I'm interested in purchasing the BoyBrow by Glossier. Thoughts?

6. K-Palette Lasting 3Way Eyebrow Pencil - This is a recent purchase so I don't have a strong, final opinion about this product yet. I find the powder kinda gimmicky, though so I just use the pencil and spoolie side!

7. Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Elixir - A true burnt orange shadow that's a perfect transition shade. You can also use it alone, like I did in this look!

8. Estée Lauder Double Wear Mascara - One of the best mascaras I've ever tried! It's supposed to be a lengthening mascara but I also find that it gives me a little bit of volume. Sadly, I only got the sample size but I'll surely buy the full sized one once I'm finished with this tube!

9. Wet n Wild H2O Liquid Eyeliner - A gem in the drugstore! Super long wearing, smudge proof, and extremely inexpensive! The only thing I don't love about it is the applicator. It's a little bit hard to use at first since it's so stiff, but it's something you can definitely get the hang of after a few uses.

10. Kiss & Tell Lip and Cheek Tint - This tint lasts for dayzzzz! It did get kind of covered by the MAC Mineralize, so I had to put on one more layer of item number 12 in this list.

11. Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Mama - One of my favorite shades of red! I noticed Colourpop lipsticks oxidize real bad, which explains why it looks brighter in the tube than it does on the lips. Long lasting as always, and it does kind of dry out your lips after a few hours (just like most liquid lipsticks) so I recommend prepping your lips beforehand.

12. ELF Blush Palette (Dark) - The one I used is the darkest color in the palette (lower right corner). It is very pigmented so I used a fluffy blush brush and a very light hand when I applied it to my face.

13. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal - Definitely one of my favorite highlighters! I only have the deluxe one which is fine 'cause I don't really feel the need to purchase the full sized version. Despite it being mini sized, it still has a good amount of product in it!

All in all, it took me about 30-40 minutes to finish this look (with all the skincare prep beforehand). On a side note, I don't really go for full coverage makeup that's why there are still a few blemishes peeking through. If you made it this far, thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed learning more about this simple yet classic look. Also, let me know if you'd like to see if this lasts for a full day. Feel free to post your thoughts or questions below! Xo
