Another photo from my series of frost patterns. Photo taken on my Nikon D7000.

Inane Comment

The evolution of frost patterns has left them fairly susceptible to warmth and sunshine, as demonstrated in my last frost pattern post. The above species of frost, Frosticulus fernicus, has compensated by developing the ability to imitate plant leaves, fooling the sun into not melting it.

That sun is an easy one to fool. I don't even use sunscreen when I go out hiking in the mountains anymore, I just pretend I'm a rock and the sun gets confused and doesn't burn me.

I find that pretending to be a rock makes hiking way easier.

That's what I used to stare at every winter morning, as a kid, riding the school bus. People thought I was strange... because I was staring out a window you can't see through. I just liked how it looked.

I murdered my vote power again upvoting comments. Sorry I couldn't do better.

Yeah, I find them really fascinating. I had no school bus or winter growing up, so I'm trying to make up for all the hours I missed making people think I was strange.
