RE: How the Ego avoids Self-Love
@atmosblack So true, Ego is quite cunning, and it can disguise itself in so many ways. Spiritual Ego being the most vicious, which often goes undetected. I have caught myself several times trying to take credit for the good that has happened in a particular instance. And through grace, thankfully, I can see that it is another trick of the Ego.
I must say though, the practice of mindfulness has been helping me avoid these traps, and in stead of identifying with the mind or the body, I just observe what the mind is doing or the body is doing, the thoughts, and the associated feelings, and in those moments, when I can remain aware that I am not what I am thinking or feeling, it is like freeing a bird from a cage. It is such a liberating experience. Cheers!
Yes, I guess mindfulness is a great way to become aware that you are more than your thoughts and feelings. It's not an end all be all though.
There comes a time, when you even go beyond the witnessing state - but that would mean, that you would have to change your username here, which is not possible... I guess, then you have a to make a new account and start the journey anew 😉
I pray that the time comes to consider changing my username :D Cheers!
