Why do I HATE Valentine’s day?👀📛

No, It is not because I hate being alone on this day- for the last 7 years I was in 2 different relationships, so this means that since the age of 18 I always had someone to celebrate with. BUT! In reality, I hate this day. Why? Let me tell you!

First of all, this day is a great example of how good marketing works. Shops are rising the price of chocolate, flowers and other related things, because everyone knows that this will be sold out. Restaurants, hotels are fully booked, there are a lot of travel agencies that offer special trips on that day- for double price, of course. But why? Why this day is different from others? You love your wife only that day? Why not to bring flowers on 15th of February? Trust me, your wife will be way happier to receive the gift unexpectedly.

And here we cam to the reason number two- I feel very disappointed to see all those men in the shops or at the street with flowers- why do they need a special day to say “I love you!”? I bet that 95% of them does nothing romantic during the rest 364 days. Sorry, 363- forgot about the birthday. That is truly hilarious!

I am totally for fighting against 14th of February, having love celebration every day! When you love, you don’t need a calendar!

Do you agree with me?

:D Had similar thoughts of yours till I've met my husband. I tried to fight that 14th-February-fever. But my husband was very persistent on that one. He expresses love to me every day and could not see why the 14th February should be any different... Thus, 14th February is just another day to express love and celebrate it, a reason to spend some extra time together.

All in all I think that a healthy approach to this celebration will make this day valuable in means of a reminder to celebrate every day and cherish the loved ones every day. We all get consumed by everyday life, and sometimes thus a simple reminder makes the difference. 🙏

But of course lots of people uses this or others celebrations as a day to "tick off" some silly responsibilities. But I must note that this is not due to the wrong celebration day... This is due to unhealthy relationship at it's core.

Hello @sadovskaya. I completely agree with you. There should not be a special day set aside for one to expresses their love or buy some flowers to show how much he or she loves his or her mate. Apart from the point you mentioned like doubling of prices of some items, it is also a day many persons commits lots of immorality. Everyday that we are alive, ought to have been a special day for celebration of love. Waking up daily, telling your mate I love you is one of the sweetest thing to do. I will also join you in your fight for 14 February. Just like you said, love doesn't need a calendar!

Exactly! You got my point :)
