in #love7 years ago

Being an Indian, I am obviously proud of my country. A country with 1.25 billion people, 29 states, and 7 union territories, India is a mystery to many people. There are very few countries that can inhibit a deep carving impression to a traveller as India does. Besides the layers of history that India is sitting on, India has a marked contrast compared to other countries. With the racousness of sounds and colors, India is indeed a country which is meant to be loved. While being accused and criticised for Intolerance and various other issues, India has remained as one of the most loved country around the world.
Here is the list of top 10 reasons that why India is loved all over the world.

*. Diversity
India is Diverse! Statistics say that, in 2015, 11.23 million foreigners visited India, which is the highest grossing for any country of the world. The Indian Diversity attracts the people of the west. Ethnic diversity, cultural, religious, linguistic, and historical diversity are some of the main examples of the diverse culture of India. Today, there are about 1652 languages in India, from which 150 languages have a considerable population. India has been a peaceful home to nine recognized languages, and hundreds unknown.

*.Yoga
Yoga, a practice which is said to have an effect on the soul, body, and mind was incepted in India. People from all over the globe, come to India, to realize the true forms of Yoga. Blending spirituality with science, is what makes Yoga so special. One’s individual consciousness unites with the universal consciousness, and that is what is the ultimate aim of an ‘yogi’. Being an effective form of maintaining a healthy body, Yoga is one of the primary reason why people visit India and love it. To comprehend Yoga in true form, one must visit India.

*.India is full of Life
Indians have a way of enjoying their life, and that is unique. We pulse, vibrate, surge and we are alive. Full of life and colors, Indians are ready to help you fully anytime and anywhere. Indians are curious about History, and largely infatuated with Cricket, they are wonderful people to mingle with. With the cacophony of the raw smell, sounds and colors, India overloads one’s senses with extreme contradictions.

*.Rich and Poor live side by side
India is home to many poor people. This is a fact that India’s GDP is poor, and Indians have been trying to lift up their GDP for a decade now. Keeping all this aside, in India there is no classification between the rich and the poor.
For example, Mumbai is one of the richest city in India, and it hails some of the richest people of the country, while it also is home to a large number of poor mass. A country where skyscrapers dwell with slums, India has never created communities for people, based on their income.

*.Photographer’s Paradise
India is photogenic! Beautiful sceneries, with beautiful scenes of normal life. Since there is no normal flow of things, one can easily sense the abnormality of the daily scenes, which makes for a great photograph. Hailing from varied ethnicities, Indian people have photogenic faces. Indian fabrics, clothing, foods, textiles, ancient temples and structures, all call for great photographs. The artworks of some of the temple in Southern India is fantastic.
However intriguing the problem is, Indians always have a big smile on their face. Those beautiful smiles attract you when you are a photographer.

*.Shopping
India is the place for Shopping lovers! India is home to great textiles, exquisite hand works, and jewelry. One of the world’s growing market, Indian markets can get you the deal of a lifetime. Bargain for the right price, and you can go home with an amazing deal. From jewelry to clothing items, from textiles to fabrics, from fantastic carvings made out of wood to the best dry fruits, the galore of shopping items in India is absolutely mind boggling.

*.Spirituality and Religion
With the huge diversity that India has, it is very natural to have various religions living in India. People from more than 6 major religions inhabit India, all living in the same place at the same time. India boasts of being the birthplace of 4 major religions-Jainism, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Hinduism. The Indian constitution correctly says that India is a secular country, and everybody has the right to practice his or her own religion.

As in any society, there are infringements. In India too, there are some radical parties who create chaos in the name of religion from time to time, but the common people and the society welcome everyone with an open mind.

*. Respect towards Family and Guests
Indians like being close to their roots. Therefore, one will always see grandparents running around the house playing with their grandchildrens, or a child taking care of his/her parents when they reach oldage. Respect towards the family is considered as a greater good by most of the Indians. Indians incepted the idea of “Atithi-Devo-Bhava”, which means “Guests are Gods”. The traditions persists, and Indians still do believe “Atithi-Devo-Bhava” and treat its guests like God.

*. India is Cheap
India is a pretty cheap travel destination. There are lots of people travelling to India every year, and they can be divided into two parts, one part which comes in craving for Indian food, and the other part for exploring a beautiful yet a cheap country. From foods to hotel rooms and handicrafts, India is a delight for long term travellers.

*.Food
I saved the best for the last. Indian food alone is the reason that many travellers travel to India. From West Bengal to Gujarat, and from Kashmir to South India, Indian food is diverse, just like the country itself. From spicy flavors of the north to the subtle flavors of the south, India is blessed with the best foods.
In fact, Indian street food has been rated as the best. From Fuchka to Pani-Puri every street food of India will give you a unique taste to blend your taste buds. The spice of Rajasthan will make your nose and eyes burn, but you will continue having those tasty and delicious foods.
