Leaving !
Everyone leaves .... everything ends ...... sometimes it’s so much easier to just walk away ... avoid the conversation.... avoid the fight ..... and just walk away ..... but the key is finding someone who thinks the fight is worth it ...... or who makes the fight worth it ..... We live in a world where people take the easy way out ..... where family isn’t valued .... where people aren’t valued .... where people lie and just tell you what you want to hear .... it’s hard to find someone who is genuine .... innocent ... honest .... everyone has an ulterior motive .... most people are just selfish !

I have been burnt by such things in the past and have become a more pessimistic person due to those experiences. My wife, on the other hand, is more optimistic and gives everyone the benefit of the doubt. So we are balanced in that respect I suppose. I always go with my gut. Whether we are meeting new people at a wedding or I am conducting interviews at work.. go with my gut. Hasn't failed me to badly.
Selfishness (sometimes) stems from the lack of exposure to a social environment and other cultures. I was extremely lucky to have parents whom subjected us kids to those who had less than us, those who had more, those who were sick or disabled, as well as lots of other social files. We volunteered and were expected to help out around the house and work jobs during the summer to save for college. Of course my parents were very generous and paid for lots of stuff, but we never took that for granted due to the values they taught us. These parental actions go a long way to shaping us for the future. In my opinion at least. lol.
I suppose your right about the ulterior motive.. Even if you don't think you have one, most likely you do. We all try to manipulate our environments to achieve the results we think will be of benefit. Sometimes they are selfish and sometimes they can be genuine. Not all of it is bad in my eyes.
