I just posted what I wrote back in October, 2016. What I most feared has come to pass in this once great Republic. We have now a narcissistic sociopath, a Reality TV star running the country, into the ground, I might add. He, Trump is alienating our allies, fighting with them, starting a trade war, and yet he continues to cozy up to known tyrants, IE: Kim Jong UN, Putin. One, he had already met with, bringing him to the world stage as if he were a Statesman, and not some murderous petty tyrant. The other is a meeting yet to happen, but in the works as I write.
We have this man, determined to throw the United States back to the 19th century where he apparently lies to reside and now with Anthony Kennedy's resignation giving Trump the opportunity to name his second (second!!!) Supreme Court Justice, that is exactly what we can expect. More worrisome is that this man, Trump is under investigation for crimes which include obstruction of Justice, not to mention in my humble opinion, stark corruption and even treasonous acts. Meaning that if he comes up for impeachment, the supreme court gets to deicde.. Ok, I am seriously upset and venting here, and probably I can assume that most of the contributors to this blog are probably Millenials, travelling around the world paying little if any attention to politics, as I was when I was in my 20's and 30s.
But, as I have explained, I am an American refugee running from a Dictatorship that originated in a democratic process. I call these events, Democratic Fascism. Tyrants, in these modern times, just observe them, start out by winning elections, then they proceed to alter the courts by filling them with loyalists, in some cases change the Constitution in order to extend their terms of office, the next to go is free speech, the press, independant media, freedom of assembly is next and before you know it, your demorcray is gone!! It's happened in recent times, Putin, Erdogan, that guy from the phillipines who is an admitted assasin, and of course Hugo Chavez who taught me to pay attention to politics, when it affected me directly. So, as a warning to young people, and to quote Aldous Huxley, "Pay Attention" for your happy carefree way of life can be torn from you in a brief moment..
