Look up Challenge Day 5
Intro
Last week my good friend Allison posted on Instagram about a Look up Challenge she was doing. Dr. Katie Penry started The Look Up Challenge. It is a 7 day guided challenge and starts every 7 days.
Dr. Penry talks a lot about mom's and their interactions with their young children. So for you parents out there this is directed specifically to you. I do not have children and I still enjoyed listening to this podcast.
I struggle with social media and how I interact with it and the influence it has in my life so I decided to take the challenge.
DAY 5
Digital Citizenship
Today she presented a very interesting idea. As adults, we were not taught digital citizenship. We had to learn it on our own and now it is our responsibility to teach it to our children.
Again she talks about boundaries
What are your screen free zones?
What are your screen free times?
Are you intentional about your media use?
She encourages us to Treat our digital space as if it were a physical space.
PEOPLE
All this week I have noticed people more.
Sometimes I waved
Sometimes I smiled
Sometimes I nodded
Sometimes I said hi
Sometimes I stopped and chat to those I know
Sometimes I talked to strangers.
Today while walking home from work as it becoming my habit I was looking up and I saw this beautiful scene before me.
I took out my phone/camera and stopped and snapped a picture. It wasn't quite right so I moved forward, my camera still up. I could sense someone walking next to me and they were about to walk into the picture. The student stopped and said, "I don't want to get in your picture." She then took out her phone and said, "This is so pretty, you have inspired me."
Yay, my looking up inspired others to look up and see the beautiful world we live in and we interacted and for a brief moment we were a part of each others life.
