Letter of Intent Concept
To whom it may concern (Potentially The Philadelphia Art Museum (large Non-Profit) / Asian Art Initiative /Philadelphia Art Initiative (relatively small Non-Profit)
My name is Gregg Connell, I currently am in Temple University’s Master of Liberal Arts Degree. Currently I am a part of a course which is exploring Cryptocurrency, and how it could help the non profit realm. The Cryptocurrency platform we are using is called Steem. Steem has created a world changing cryptocurrency. It allows people to create, explore, research, and share, while also producing a profit in cryptocurrency. After researching various other cryptocurrency’s, it has become very clear that cryptocurrency can be as volatile as the regular stock market. This volatility most likely exists due to the unknown aspects of this new market. Many questions have yet to be explored and answered in this realm.

Currently, only a handful of countries have restrictions on cryptocurrency. The majority of these countries are known to restrict certain aspects of the internet from their citizens. The sense of risk and uncertainty has alarmed some about cryptocurrency. Comprising useful information and facts about the Steem cryptocurrency should be a top priority when determining who to donate the currency to. If we were to offer and got accepted by a non-profit for the donation. How would they use it? Would the non-profit cash in, or would they decide to invest further into the market. These questions quite possibly may appear. After researching the internet, there does not seem to be many financial planners that work in the cryptocurrency world. If we were to research, and find a reliable advisor, it may help the non-profit understand the best possible options. While investing may be a great idea. The concept of using this currency to immediately help a struggling group does seem appealing. In many conditions that immediate currency may be exactly what they need to survive.

Creating a Letter of Intent is essential to helping determine which group to support. However, the concept of creating a platform which helps create collaboration, and support between groups seems to create a complex situation. The letters of Intent would need to Identify the collaborative approach we would want to create. It would be interesting to ask these non-profits if they have any groups they would be interested in collaborating with. After we found these two groups (or more) willing to participate, it would be helpful and interesting to sit down in a round table environment. I find that sometimes putting names to faces is essential in any collaborative approach.

Philadelphia’s Non Profit Art Organization’s are comprised of 1415 organizations. What would be a good proportion of small to large groups? Do we solely invest in large organizations, such as the Philadelphia Art Museum, or do we look to smaller more local art organization? I believe the collaboration between these groups could play a pivotal role in art and history of Philadelphia. While this letter of intent leaves many questions, it shows the great possibilities that are present with the platform. Would your organization be interested in participating in a innovative experiment which could change the way non-profits produce income?
Thank you for your time, please feel free to respond,
