Watching movies is good for your health
For some people, movies and films are merely a business. For others, it is a form of artistic expression. The truth is that, no matter how you see it, enjoying movies is a health benefit and nowadays, many people do not take it into account. With this article we tell you what benefits this activity brings to your life and we give you one more reason to lie down in your bed, put on your favorite movie and enjoy a good time while improving your health.
Have you ever finished watching a movie and feel that you have been marked in some way or feel that your perspectives have helped you? It may seem a bit crazy, but there is a psychological current called "film therapy", which takes advantage of the benefits of cinema for health and psychological recovery. Effectively, this current studies and applies all those elements that may have a positive impact at a psychological and therapeutic level. But what are those elements or benefits?
Revitalize your mind
When watching a movie, we are mostly in a time of relaxation and disconnection, where we are exposed to new perspectives that introduce us to a mental break and in turn, an exercise of visualization through images that help us understand and think about how react if we would have to live the same situations.
It exposes us to our fears
On more than one occasion, we observe a scene that makes us face our fears no matter how big or small they may be. This allows us to be more aware of our sensations and that way it is easier to face them.
It motivates you
All the plots end up revolving around achieving an objective and we constantly observe how the characters overcome great challenges and show that every situation can be solved. Through the combination of images, music and the script, the films generate emotions so powerful that they fill us with energy and impel us to take that small first step to achieve our own objectives.
It makes you think
It is always good to take about five minutes of reflection and many times the cinema makes us do it even without realizing it. Whether it is about vital, spiritual or existential things, the audiovisual format in which the films are created transports us to imaginary, historical or documented scenarios. These scenarios make us reflect and in turn, increase our critical thinking.
It makes you laugh and cry
No one can deny that laughter has an amazing power in both our physical and mental health and today, the cinema is a laugh machine, even in films that are not categorized as comedies. That's why this is the perfect therapy for our health.
As for crying, many avoid it and others can not even contain their tears in a feature film. The undeniable truth is that when we cry, all those feelings of sadness, anguish and frustration emerge and allow us to be in touch with the most intimate part of our being, where we really get to know ourselves.
