Rants, Ramblings, and Rumblings - Livestreaming, Discgolf, Steemmonsters, and Content Creation...
Hi everyone! I hope that all of you are had a great Saturday. It has been a great week for me, personally, and I have really enjoyed getting to know you all a little better. That being said, here are some random ramblings and happenings going on out there.....
Lake County Air Show 2017
LiveStreamers
I am so glad to have the @dlive platform to broadcast my content. I'm glad to be working on two shows for that platform with others, @thesteemingpile and Morning Coins w/ John & Chas. The two shows are very distinct from each other and every episode is different from week to week. Glad to be working with @g0nrogue, @narashi, @shawnsporter, @patrickulrich, @crollo3, and @ericwilson on those broadcasts. On The Steeming Pile in September, we will be having a show that focuses on the Best Practices of LiveStreaming - If you are a livestreamer and want to share some of your ideas, pitfalls, and plans with our audience, please consider being on the broadcast. See below for the Telegram Account and Discord channel for the show.
Two Channels I watched this week:
@rook81 - I caught his stream a couple times when he was playing Detroit: Become Human. Engaging broadcasts with some special effects built in plus a video game has great graphics and a choose your own adventure feel.
@clove71 - She broadcasts engaged shows that feature the @steemmonsters card game. With random pack giveaways, @dsound music integration, and chats with other Steem Monsters fans - this is a must watch for beginners and enthusiasts of the game.
Two Learnings I had about content creation:
Niche Content/Community Connections - First, let me just say, I'm not even sure this rambling is titled correctly. Have you ever heard the term "Jack of all Trades, Master of none"? That is where I feel alot of times in new online communities and social media platforms. Take cooking blogs for example, I like that they exist and I can cook, but I don't feel super-compelled to create cooking/food/ or recipe posts. The same goes for music, poetry, design, etc... On the other hand - I love that they exist and give people a chance to connect, create and share around the topic. In general, if I had to pick a niche it would be livestreaming, video conference design, and "the importance of strategic planning". Riveting, eh?
Go with what you like to do - So contrary to the discussion listed above, one tip I learned or was reminded of this week was while watching one of @ericwilson's streams. He calls it "Find your tribe", a process of just writing about what you like and finding people who share the same interests. He uses the hashtag #discgolf and posts and chats with folks on disc golf related topics. So, if you like to do something and you want to post about it, do it. You never know who you'll run into online.
It also reminded me of this video that I shot and edited at the Tiffin Ohio Pro-Am Disc Golf Tournament in 2010. I edited the link so it skips all of the interviews and other footage and goes right to the hidden highlight of the video, a two camera angle shot of a tourney player almost getting an ace. Enjoy! (If it doesn't load right, just skip to the 9:31 mark for the shot.)

Very timely post, I actually am working to get Jomez Productions on DLive.
Well... Halfway there, @jomezpro and @jomezproductions is a thing and they have ownership of the passwords. Conference all next weekend.
"Find your tribe" is my mantra. Reward what you want to see on the blockchain and make it happen.
edited post :)
Thanks for shout-out and for stopping by last night! I enjoyed having you and hope to see you pop in from time to time.
I appreciate you allowing me to be a part of @thesteemingpile! I've thoroughly enjoyed all of our conversations and can't wait to see where it all goes.
