Anxiety (Part 1)

" Rule your mind or it will rule you. "

In google dictionary, anxiety is define as a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease about something with an uncertain outcome. It is also define as a strong desire or concern to do something or for something to happen. In Cambridge dictionary, it is define as an uncomfortable feeling of nervousness or worry about something that is happening or might happen in the future. It is also define as something that causes a feeling of fear and worry.

But what really is anxiety? Is it a mental disorder or is it just people overthinking? Is it something that is within our control or out of our control?

In this fast pace world, many of us may have experience a sense of anxiety. Especially teenagers and young adults in this century. From worrying about losing friends to worrying about if he or she is cheating on you or even worrying about your outward appearance. All these worries will eventually makes you feel anxious and hence, developing anxiety. Worrying about something is not wrong, it does not cause you to have anxiety. worrying is a human trade. Nevertheless, when you lose control over your worries, that is when anxiety creeps in.

Anxiety can be genetic or it can be something that you develop. Things in the past can also contribute to activating that over sensitivity mode. Regardless of what it is, you should deal with it. Don't run and avoid it. Find a way to deal and work with it. Being worry about everything can lead you to second guessing everything you are doing or things that is happening.

Anxiety can lead to depression. You'll have self-hate. You'll be down and sad. You'll cry for no reason. You'll feel like the world is against you and you are on your own. Don't let it this happen. Don't let your anxiety turn into depression. Fight it. Do something about it. Find a cycle to avoid being triggered.Stop listening to the pessimist side of your head. Think positive and tell yourself that it's okay to not worry about it. Fighting back with the positive part of your brain may be like swimming against a strong current, but don't give up. It's possible. See the truth for what it is. See life as what it is.
