On December 26, 1996, a day after Christmas, a crime shocked the United States, and shook the world's media: The little beauty queen, JonBenét Patricia Ramsey, was found dead in her basement, only 6 years old.

On the morning of December 26th, JonBenét's mother, Patricia "Patsy" Ramsey found an extensive rescue letter on the staircase of her home, where she demanded an amount of 118,000 dollars in exchange for returning them to the little girl. After reading the letter, Patsy quickly went to JonBenét's room, to realize that it was not a bad joke, had taken her daughter. Immediately, the Ramseys called their friends and neighbors, and in a matter of minutes, the house was full of people, which hindereded the evidence.

The father, John Bennett, and Patsy called the police, who gave them a series of instructions, one of them suggested to search the house deeply, looking for some indication of the possible whereabouts of JonBenét.

John began the search all over the house, until he reached the basement, and there he found the body of JonBenét, covered with a white sheet. The girl had her mouth covered with tape, and her arms tied up, and she had a nylon strap tied around her neck. According to the official cause, died of strangulation, although his skull had multiple contusions and had trauma to the brain.

So now, who killed JonBenet Ramsey?

The day of her disappearance and death, the girl was only accompanied by her father, her mother and her brother at home. John and Patsy made sure that all the doors were secure and closed, however they found one of the doors was totally open. After the investigators surveyed more thoroughly, they realized that the door had cobwebs, so it was almost impossible for anyone to have entered there, which led them back to the same point: No one outside the family could have been in the house.

Since the beginning of the investigation, the parents were suspected in the case, as well as JonBenet's little brother, Burke. In August 2006, it was concluded, after several investigations, that the rescue letter could have been written by Patsy Ramsey, because of all the coincidences in writing, and also, the letter had been written in a booklet that was in the house.

His parents, taking advantage of the attention, and being a public figure Patsy, took the time to give interviews to the media, seeking a little acceptance in the spectators who believed that they had murdered the girl. But the effect was quite the opposite, the public seemed feigned, forced, very unbelievable their statements alleging that they had nothing to do with the case. On the other hand, Burke took the murder of his sister in a somewhat strange way, even said that "his mother exaggerated with the death of his sister".

There was only one person who was arrested for the case, John Mark Karr, but then he corroborated that he had not been the culprit.

20 years later the case is a total mystery, beyond the suspicions and certain evidence that could have been managed and investigated better, it is inexplicable the degree of evil that exists in the world.

This case lasted for a while, and there were approximately 1600 suspects.
It's still open today!
