Being more productive in a world so distracting
Due to the rise in technology and the competition for one's interest, it’s much harder to be more productive today than it ever was.
Supposedly, technology is there to help you be more productive. If you think about it, we have more access to information than we've ever had in the past. It only makes sense that we be more productive, right?
However, what it actually does is opens up opportunities for us to be more distracted and take us away from what we're supposed to be doing every day. We actually become less productive.
Before you get rid of all your technology, here are three ways you can start seeing more productivity. If you take advantage of these, you will be well-positioned to reach your peak performance.
Always be willing, able, and ready to take action – This is a very proactive mindset which is considered the heart of achieving more. Without this, you can have all the tools and knowledge in the world but still end up stuck exactly where you are today.
Knowledge is not power, but only a potential. Power comes when the knowledge is put into action. Take the necessary steps. If you are not ready to do what it takes or take advantage of what you have, then you are not ready to break through the barriers that block your path to success.
Surround yourself with the right people – As the saying goes, no man is an island. You have to surround yourself with the right people. If you are with people who take action and encourage you to do the same, it will push you when you feel defeated. And you will have people to bounce idea's off.
When it comes to running a business, you only have 24 hours in a day and you can only do so much in that day. Choose the right people who can handle the tasks and responsibilities that you can’t handle personally. Take great advantage of building the best team which is a crucial aspect to achieving more and be more productive.
Start thinking systematically – Develop organized and structured ways of handling your everyday tasks. This will allow you to manage individual tasks more effectively. Also, it will let you rest much easier, knowing that things will be accomplished because there is a plan and a time allocated to do them.
This can also give you an opportunity to find more efficient ways of handling your life. If you want to experience more productivity, you will need to develop and thoroughly refine the system that governs you.
These three ways have thoroughly helped me in my life. If you establish the right systems, have the right team, and commit yourself to taking the necessary actions, there isn’t any limit to what can you accomplish.
Very good advice in this current day and age.
Nice one!
Thanks brother!
"Surround yourself with the right people" That's sound advice. When I was growing up my parents would always tell this and I never paid attention to it. Now that I'm older I realize on how important it is to have people around you that support you.
