as I have already mentioned in my introductory post I am a typical introvert. Basically it means where you get your mental energy from, how does your brain re-charge. You don’t need to do a personality test to see where you fit, this simple guideline will show you if you’re one of ‘us’. By the way, a lot famous people are introverts such as Albert Einstein, Bill Gates, Barack Obama, Mark Zuckerberg…. and the list goes on.

So here we go:

1. You don’t enjoy small talk. Do you keep delaying your hairdresser appointment because small talk is so awkward? Chitchat is annoying and boring for an introvert and can even be stressful. Do you prefer a one-on-one conversation? You are likely an introvert.

2. Your ideal weekend is staying at home alone. After a busy week at work surrounded by people your battery needs recharging. You don’t get bored easily. You are perfectly happy alone with a book or watching a movie. After such a weekend you feel energized and ready to face the crowds again.

3. You have a small group of close friends. You don’t enjoy a great deal of socializing but you have a small circle of long-term friends. You tend to form just a few strong friendships that span decades rather than having hundreds of superficial short-term acquaintances.

4. You are less outspoken and assertive than others. You are more likely to listen than talk and to the outside world you appear to be reserved and quiet. You feel more comfortable with passive interaction with other people, being assertive would put you in the spotlight.

5. You are not a party animal. You don’t mind attending a party however you are not proactive at approaching new people. You spend your time talking with people you already know. You much prefer a small dinner party with just a few close friends than a big social gathering.

6. You feel drained after a social outing. You attended a small Sunday barbecue party, had a great time, chatted with old friends. It feels like you distributed your energy to everyone around you. You feel tired and need some time alone to recharge.

7. You avoid conflict at all cost. This comes easy to introverts. We prefer listening to talking. Being an effective listener is one of the main conflict avoidance skills.

8. You prefer to express your thoughts and feelings in writing. You might not be a great talker. Writing gives you time to think and sort out your thoughts before putting them on paper.

9. You love long walks alone. You feel good surrounded by nature when you can get away from everything and everyone for just an hour or two. You feel recharged and energized.

10. You don’t like bragging. Self-promotion is uncomfortable for introverts. You might feel more at ease with describing your accomplishments in writing than verbally.
