Recently vacationing to the northern most part of Minnesota, I discovered this beautiful 'Lake of the Woods' shoreline in Zippel Bay State Park. I don't believe I have ever seen anything both relaxing and mysterious in nature before. The picture alone doesn't do this place justice.

It looks really relaxing! I've been as far North as Grand Portage but never to this spot.

Very nice setting.
A picture of the lake would have been nice too. I see erosion is exposing the roots, we have the same challenge on some of the Mauritian beaches, and the government has undertaken to stop the erosion by placing netted rocks, an expensive process for this small fragile economy. If we loose our beaches, then the 1.3 million tourists every year may very well diminue.

@ericvancewalton When you drive up to the park, you will pass through small towns. These small towns are also a sight as they are very clean of litter but empty-looking.

@wwwdotgotodotmu I completely agree. The Mauritius Island has a lot more to lose from this natural phenomenon. A place like that with beautiful beaches is what draws the crowds.

You know... I do have additional pictures of this beach in Minnesota. I'll post it soon. 😉
