I am confounded
I cannot understand how our "leaders" can act so reprehensibly.
Do they think there will never be any retribution for their lies? their thefts? their harassment? their bullying? their traitorousness? their murders?
Have they no fear of God?
Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 8:
So then, I have seen the wicked buried, those who used to go in and out from the holy place, and they are soon forgotten in the city where they did thus. This too is futility. Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed quickly, therefore the hearts of the sons of men among them are given fully to do evil. Although a sinner does evil a hundred times and may lengthen his life, still I know that it will be well for those who fear God, who fear Him openly. But it will not be well for the evil man and he will not lengthen his days like a shadow, because he does not fear God.
Ecclesiastes 8:10-13 NASB1995
I do understand that the vast majority of the world is neither Christian nor Jewish and don't follow their dictates.
I also know that most Christians are only professing and not practicing. Most of the Jews that I've met are ethnic only and are either atheists or agnostics.
At least a few of our "leaders" profess to be Christian or Catholic so this would be directed at them.
Here's a little something that Paul wrote in his letter to the Galatian church:
Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21
On the other hand he had this to say about the fruit of the spirit:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
So, again I posit, do they think there is no recompense?
They don't think they are wrong. They, like all beings, hope only to continue to exist. They feel their existence and their hold on power slipping. They feel justified. They will see, the hard way.
Yeah. Solomon did say that a man's way is right in his own eyes.
