The bigget locuste of the world!!
We found a giant locust in the garden yesterday. Made a little search: the scientific name is Pseudophyllanax imperialis.
"This endemic grasshopper is the largest insect in New Caledonia. It can measure up to 150 mm in length for a wingspan of 200 mm. It is light green, imitating the green leaves of Coconut. It has very long and thin green antennas too."
The insect is scary, and make loud noise to defend it self. Even my cats were scared.
Fun adventure!
The group of words associated with cat (catt, cath, chat, katze) stem from the Latin catus, meaning domestic cat, as opposed to feles, or wild cat.
