My longest Florence-Barcelona trip: still in Italy...

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Yesterday at 20h I uploaded a post speaking about how I'm killing the time while waiting the plane at the airport...
At that time, the screen showed just a delay of 30 minutes and this was better than expected though, so I was pretty confident for arriving home on a good time to meet the family...
But not, 10' after posting, the bloody flight was cancelled due, to "weather conditions"...it seems because the fog at high altitude....
Bastards!!
I couldn't believe it... It's not the first time that the Florence Airport has to cancel the flights due that excuse!!!
It is the worst airport in Italy! That's sure...I tested myself a few times...

Well, finally the solution they offered us was to spend a night in a very low level hotel, a shuttle bus at 4:00am for bringing us to Venice Airport, which is 250 km far from Florence, and then a flight from Venice departing at 09:50am...really a nightmare!

That was not the worst! The bloody old bus has broken after 20' of trip...yes friends! This is how it works everything here!!! A total disaster!
So we had to wait for another bus in the middle of the motorway at 5:00am in the morning that came very fast...

So, here I am, in Venice Airport, hoping that this flight will not have a long delay!

It's already 9:00am, I'm going to the boarding cue, crossing fingers...

Wish me good luck!

Good luck, but on the other side it looks like a adventure!

Wow talk about bad luck huh...

I flew almost on a weekly basis all over the world since I was 16 to about 24 and I’m glad I never had such bad luck... perhaps a few delays but never a cancelled flight. We missed one flight one time, it was the last flight from Madrid to Amsterdam so we just decided to wait all night on the airport itself :p

Florence is the worst airport in the UE. Believe me. In 1 month, 2 times due to the weather...actually seems that the track is the problem, so short
