Early Christmas Gifts (Happy December)

in #life6 years ago (edited)

Hello to all my dedicated Steemit followers, fans and groupies. I hope you're all doing fine and well! I had a long day today and just made it back home now. It's important to keep in mind that I left my place 13 hours ago. I quite missed it, really.

Anyway, I don't know about y'all, but I love it when a package is waiting for me at home. It's like one of the best things ever. Especially when it' an unexpected gift. Well, kind of. See, like three weeks ago the manager of the human resources at Amex sent all the staff members a blank wish list for Christmas gifts.

The thing is that they will include a very generous extra bonus in our December's compensation and I already feel very grateful for that. I didn't want to ask anything too expensive, so I came up with a perfume I planned to buy for myself. Truth be told, I wasn't expecting to get it from them. I forgot to mention that the manager included the following line in his email:

You can ask whatever you want, but it doesn't mean you will get it. You will definitely get a Christmas Card and our love though.

Three weeks later (and I swear I had forgotten about it), I get home and I see a small package waiting for me. It included these two beautiful things inside....

Other than the perfume I asked, you can see an incredible "Platinum Card" they made for each member of the editorial team. I can't help it but feel so grateful and happy to be part of the big, kind and generous giant named American Express. Other than being the best job (in every single way) I ever had in my life, it came a few months after I lost another quite awesome job that I considered an once in a lifetime kind of job at the time. It's true that when one door closes another (even bigger sometimes) opens. It applies on every field of human activity.

It's just important to remember that it's totally worth it to stand up on your two feet (well, three in my case LOL) and restart your life, or career, or whatever that is that you want. After all, success is to start something new with the same enthusiasm and passion you did in the very first time. It doesn't matter how many times you fail; what matters is how many times you're willing to fail :)

Cheers :)))
