How to control your excitement ?
Many times you would find yourself in situations where you are very excited but suddenly you want to control your excitement due to fear of doing something wrong. It is okay to have such thoughts, but is controlling your excitement the solution?
It is important to know that happiness and sadness, excitement and boredom, and any other emotion come within you. External factors can indeed stimulate them but how you respond to that stimulus is entirely your decision either subconsciously or consciously. There is no need to control your excitement you just have to maintain the necessary balance.
Reports suggest that you are able to do something with utmost perfection when your body is healthy and your mind is happy and free. Excitement is just an advanced version of happiness. So don't control your excitement just learn to maintain the necessary balance. Because if you control your excitement you are depriving yourself of your freedom to be happy.
The easiest way to control your excitement is by this simple breathing exercise. Close your eyes and stretch your thumb, ring finger, and little finger of your right hand by keeping the other two fingers closed. Now close your right nose with your thumb and slowly breathe in through your left nose. Hold your breath for 10 seconds and slowly exhale through your right nose by covering your left nose with the little finger and ring finger. Now inhale through your right nose, hold your breath, and exhale through the other by using your respective fingers to cover your respective noses. Do this 10 times in a row whenever you feel excited. You will see that not only your inner balance has increased but your willpower and physical strength have also increased to a large extent. Further, your excitement has now changed into a state of blissfulness.
The reason why we are here is to live. Our life is all about experiences and emotions. Do not suppress your emotions, because, in the end, only how beautifully and intensely we lived our life matters. If you are struggling to deal with your excitement try the exercise I mentioned above for at least 5 days and you will see you are no longer the same person.
