Temples in Thailand have played an important role to most Buddhists in Thailand from the past till present.

We can say that temples are relevant to the way of life of Buddhists from birth to death. We normally go to the temple for making merit and participate in various ceremonies that are normally held in the temples such as ordination, funeral ceremonies, etc.

Some ceremonies are relevant to the culture and traditions of each region as well.

On religious holidays such as Visakha Bucha Day, Buddhist Lent Day, End of Buddhist Lent Day, Makha Bucha Day, etc., many people gather in the temple to make merit and do some activities concerning these ceremonies.

Chak Phra Festival is a good example. It’s one of the most significant Buddhist days, in the South of Thailand, in which a lot of people pull the beautiful decorated vehicle that puts the Buddha statue on, go around the town for people to worship and then end it in the temple.

Some temples decorate the merit-money on the small trees.

The most important building in the temples is Phra Ubosot. It’s normally built in Thai style and decorated beautifully.

My friend, it looks to me after all your posts, that gingerbread buildings were invented where you are from and not in Europe.

That's a pretty place.

Thanks so much! I'm glad you like the places.
