RE: Can The Future Be Predicted? (English/Turkish)

in #life6 years ago

If you understand the human mind, you can predict the future. Humans go down certain psychological pathways. If you know the pathway, you can see what people are likely to do because you know their goals and strategies. However, because we have free will, it's always a probability. If you know other people's strategies, you are able to make your own predictions, allowing you to modify your own strategies, thereby sabotaging the predictions of others. Predictions themselves change the outcomes. Free Will recognizes that there is a short window through which we can see into the future, but we can't see farther because we can change. If we ever find out how change works, we'll have to find the 2nd derivative to maintain free will. Ray Kurzweil seems to think we haven't evolved to the point where we can overcome this, and that AI is the next step of intelligent expansion, but I have faith that quantum leap in consciousness will come before the singularity..

That is a very thoughtful post. What is a quantum leap in consciousness? Why is singularity?

People just are blind to how the world works, and people who know better are able to exploit that. I'm saying I hope people wake up and learn the lesson that there are natural laws that can't be broken without consequence.. The singularity is important because of the exponential acceleration of progress. AI will someday become far smarter than us, and it will happen very quickly. Just imagine what one could do, feeding a superintelligent AI big data and adding artificial stimuli.. Prediction becomes trivial, but then so does controlling the future.
