Traveling and Arriving

imageA wise man once said this "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step"
Will start this speech with the story of a journey I embarked on to make us have full understanding of what Travelling and Arriving is all about.
As the first child of a family of four, my education was party fast,I wrote J.A.M.B when I was in ss2,and when the result was out I scored 220.
My father was very happy because he is a man that values education. When it was time to write my post jamb,I had to travel down to the institution I chose, and that was the university of ado-ekiti(UNAD).
On that faithful day I was the happiest man on earth, not because of the post jamb am going to write, but because of the fact that am leaving my hood(IKORODU) and I won't be with my nagging parent for a week or more.
I got dressed,my traveling bag was ready,my dad prayed and he decided to drive me down to the park. Dami, know the son of whom you are,he said stretching 20,000 naira towards me,i collected and entered the bus.
As a young boy that has not traveled alone or out of his hood before I was expecting the journey to be non stressful and interesting.
To cut the long story short, the journey didn't go as planned, passengers started complaining that the bus was going too slow and it was already getting, then we found out the bus had brake issues. When we got to ilesa, the bus started having ignition problems.
Oh, I was so scared when the driver keptvon restarting the bus a million times. Then all of a sudden the bus stopped in the middle of the bush in the deepest night. I was so hungry and then I started hearing gunshots and noise and all, the driver was able to run away successfully ,all I could do was stare in amazement because that was the first time I experienced anything like that. Then one of the robbers tapped me with his gun and asked for my phone and money. I was already crying, when I heard someone say "why you de cry na,enter bus". Then I realized I was lost in my imagination and the driver was the imagined robbe. I was so happy when I found out it was in my imagination but,was still scared.
30minutes after we reached Ado-ekiti.

point of the story

The point of this story is to shed more light to what a journey is really about. Not just any journey but the journey of life.

Life is not fair with everybody, we give life allbwhat it takes to make it fair on us.

Every journey begins with a step, its either you are being pushed before taking the step or grace has made you take the step without any push.
The fact that you are being pushed before taking a step doesn't differentiate you from somebody that took a step without being pushed. What differentiate the both of you is how you see life and you both embark on the journey of life.
While embarking on a journey different things happen that might want to give us a second choice of not moving again. For example in the story I illustrated, the bus had break failure, but the driver didn't stop and decide not to get to his final destination, instead he solved the problem and we were back in track.
I keep telling people this,as an individual what should be on your mind is "have I gotten to my final destination" the thought of this keeps you going.
In our infant days, most of us do cry anytime we realize its a brand new day and our parents will actually get us dressed for school.
Yes as a baby we cry,but parents don't see that as an excuse to stop you from "traveling" instead they still make sure we get to school.

life itself is a risk

The fact that travelers do fall victim of accident is well known to everybody, some might end up loosing a leg,one arm,get disfigured one way or the other.but at the same time billions of people still embark on that same journey without having a single scratch.
Its okay if we consider all this risk and try to avoid them, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't start the journey, or not get to your destination.
Failure doesn't mean the end of the road, I see it ad a trigger to make you learn from your mistake and move ten time faster.
