In 1974, Sylvester Stallone was a failed and discouraged actor and screenwriter. While watching a boxing match, he was inspired by a boxer who "won in front of great Mohammed Ali.

He quickly went home and in three days he composed the first version of the script called "Rocky".

Decreasing the price to $ 106, Stallone sold his agent's script. A studio offered $ 20,000, provided Ryan O'Neal or Burt Reynolds play the lead role.

Stallone was excited about the offer, but he wanted to play the role himself. He offered to play for free. He was told: This is not the case in Hollywood. "Stallone refused the offer though he desperately needed the money.

Then he was offered $ 80,000 provided he did not play the main role. He dismissed them again.

The producers then told him that Robert Redford is interested in playing the role, and in this case he would be offered $ 200,000. Again they were greeted with a refusal.

They raised the offer to $ 300,000 for the script. He confessed that he did not want to ask his whole life "What would have happened if?"

He then offered $ 330,000. This time he replied that he prefers never to make the film if the main role is not played by him.

Finally, the request was approved.

He was given $ 20,000 for the script, plus $ 340 a week the minimum pay for an actor.

After deduction of expenses, agent fees and taxes, the net amount of his income was about $ 6,000 instead of $ 330,000.

In 1976, Stallone was nominated for Oscar for best actor.

The film "Rocky" won three Academy Awards: Best Film, Best Director, Best Supporting.

The Rocky series brought a gross profit of $ 1 billion and turned Sylvester Stallone into an international movie star! ... and the rest ... it's history!
