People Don’t Like Mirrors - They Like Filters

To reverse the bad luck, one needs to awaken :-)

Faking it is how we like to do it. We don’t want the truth; we want to be drowning in lies. Sleeping our way through life is what we do best. All the while secretly attempting to maximize our own self-interest. Fake it till you believe it. We put filters on our pictures and fillers on our lips. Our intentions are made out of plastic. How could we dare look into the mirror? We’re way too occupied running around chasing for the superficial approval of people who could care less about us.

How can you find out who you are if you only know yourself through the eyes of fake concepts that society has forced fed on you? Oh I get it. You’re too busy wasting your time trying to catch up with the joneses to dare take the time to scrape beneath the surface layers of your being to perhaps find out who’s the stranger you’ve been to yourself your whole life.

Mirror mirror on the wall, tell me who’s the fakest of them all? The Narcissus in you could probably answer that one for you. Yet the paradox is that we’re not afraid of losing sight of our reflection, we’re rather scared of losing control over our false illusions. We love a good filter because it gives us access to our favorite tool in the artificial toolbox we hold onto, and that is to create an imaginary version of ourselves. Look, I don’t like myself as I am, might as well distort reality a little so that my fake new me can match my delusional utopic fantasies.

We cling to other human beings so they mirror to us what we want to see and hear. But how can you use the broken reflection of someone else to make an accurate evaluation of yourself? Our image of ourselves is the product of the feedback we get from others, and that’s why we will never know who the heck we are at the very core of our being.

I guess we have to look inside to find our who we really are.

I guess we have to
Look inside to find our
Who we really are.

LOL - always a good place to start with the man in the mirror!

When I look out of my window mirror
So many sights to see
And when I look in my window mirror
So many different people to be...
That it's strange
So strange
It's very strange to me
