HORRIFIC cycling accident leads to my friend losing his leg! WE NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE READ!!
Weʼre raising £10,000 to help fund a prosthetic leg for Paul Fenney (as of writing this 69% has been raised so far his friends and family have been amazing. However, Paul needs that little bit more of a push to get him there)
Paul loves exercise and sport he uses his unique physical ability to fund raise for various charity's, hes never been a quitter, this is just a small setback. hes been there before. Around 12 years ago breaking his back falling from a bridge, (accident prone to say the least) he then competed in 'the great south run' soon after recovery.
How unbelievable would it be to help Paul, by using the amazing steemit network.
So lets all get together and use this platform for what it's truly designed for. PLEASEEEE.. PROMOTE / UPVOTE / RESTEEM / OR transfer STEEM / SBD to @steemit-steemit OR re posting on other social media.
Or just some encouraging words on here to help him keep his chin up through this hard time
Also there's a just giving link here to donate using fiat;

Below: some photos of Paul raising money for charity through various events, him with his boy and photo after surgery!
PLEASE NOTE 100% OF ANY REWARDS GAINED BY THIS POST WILL BE EXCHANGED TO FIAT AND SENT ON TO PAUL TO REACH THE GOAL NEEDED FOR HIS NEW LEG.
note Paul is not Crypto savvy, however I have explained my best how steemit works, I'm making sure he creates his own accounton here.
STORY BELOW.................. written by paul's friend Simon Humphreys-Jones.
Recently a great friend of mine was involved in a tragic accident while cycling home from work so that he could pick his son up from nursery on time. Thankfully he survived the experience, however it resulted in him needing his right leg below the knee to be removed.
Paul is a keen athlete and an active father. As well as kicking a ball around with his son he was regularly involved in obstacle races to raise money for his chosen charities and long distance running. He had a few big events planned over the next few months which he is no longer able to take part in. With the way technology has improved over the years it should be possible to assist Paul in getting back to his normal lifestyle without being affected by the loss of his leg.
Unfortunately the type of leg required to allow Paul to live this lifestyle is not cheap and is not something we are able buy without some help. I am hoping that we are able to raise the funds required so that Paul can get back to his normal way of living.
Any help towards this goal would be fantastic.

As someone who lost his leg to an accident also, i must give you my respect and say that this initiative is a great one. But, i can also give you a little tip. More then any money, he will need his friends (i know, because over time, i have lost mine), so support him, even if he gets to be a grumpy asshole sometimes. Losing a limb is a huge thing. I also noticed that he is fortunate enough that he still has his own knee. So In time he should be able to pick up his life, but prepare him, that it will never be the same as it was before the accident. This is, (at least for me it was) a hard nut to crack, and tough to swallow. Do not let him dwell in the past, and be there for himand his family. Just Take a very good care of the wounds, and make sure their not getting infected. Even when you just start to use your prosthetic be gentle with pressure points, the flesh needs to get used to the other kind of pressure. ... all my best wishes, and loads of succes.
its sad to hear you have lost friends!
this is great advice as you have been through it yourself
massive respect to you and how strong you are!

My best wishes for your friend to recover soon. Thank God he can get an artificial replacement. I'm a cyclist myself so I can imagine what that means to your friend. Paul Fenney, your fellow cyclists envision your soon return to sports.
