Productivity Tip of the Day!
If you want something to get done but find yourself putting it off to finally start,
here's a simple trick you might want to try ;)
1. Take a stopwatch and set the timer on just 5 minutes!
2. Start doing your work!
3. Stop doing it after the 5 minutes are over!
Yes! It's that easy!
It is important that you really stop after 5 minutes. Do something else, 20 jumping jacks for example!
Chances are your work is not finished after just 5 minutes. So you can just repeat the exercise once more if you feel like it.
Maybe even do 15 minutes or more. Just be sure to only do 5 the first time!
When it comes to overcoming our inner resistance, we seem to be much like an old steam train. It takes a lot of effort to get startet but once we are rolling it gets more and more easy until we are unstoppable!
This little trick takes advantage of that by making it easy for you to take the first hurdle and giving you your first bit of momentum on which you can then build on!
