Jump in the past with some old papers ^_^
Some days ago, me and my hubby bought some old books in a vintage market in my city. We love to do it for some different reasons:
- we love to read books
- we love to collect books
- we always search some rare books to sell in the bookshop of our friend Elena where we are working since December
The other day, in the market, we found some old books (published about 50-70 years ago) that are no rare, but they were covered by different beautiful papers and so I couldn't resist to buy them ^_^
To sell them to collectors, we had to remove those beautiful papers, but I saved them because I love those patterns:
In my region (Tuscany in the center of Italy) there is a long tradition about this kind of papers that we call "Florentine paper". In the past, people used them to cover the books or to place in the drawers of the dresser to save the things they used to store there.
These kind of papers have different patterns and different colors and now, after more than 50 years, they look like so beautiful!
I'm collecting them for some works on art and I hope to have a bit of free time soon to work on something new. ^_^
See ya soon and steem on,
Silvia
These patterns are wonderful ! I so understand why you keep and collect these papers ...❤️ 😉
