The Mysterious 9th Planet Discovered - Planet X

in #life7 years ago

When our sun dies (in about seven billion years), the enigmatic planet soaring on the brink of our solar system could also be its downfall. Scientists are still hesitant whether Planet Nine really exists, and currently, concepts are generally based on the outlandish movement of other objects in the far expanse of our solar system. But if it does, it could alter the way we observe our own solar system.

Scientists first advocated an enormous ninth planet in January 2016, saying that even though this reputed world would be about 10 times the size of Earth, it could have absconded a telescope’s notice because of its extreme detachment from the sun. One year on this planet, according to their calculations, would last 17,000 years on Earth, and it would transport as far away as 93bn miles from the sun.

“Because Planet Nine is so massive and has an orbit tilted compared to the other planets,” said Elizabeth Bailey, the study’s author, “the solar system has no choice but to slowly twist out of alignment."

Mike Brown suggested that scientists may be able to localize the planet, if it subsists, in the next few years, and that his team’s work would be available in the forthcoming issue of the Astrophysical Journal.

This is really astonishing that every time we look cautiously, we continue to find that Planet 9 enlightens something about the solar system that had long been unidentified.
