Are You Really Happy?

in #life5 years ago

The sheer number of things that we do every single day is quite astounding. Just take note of all your activities daily and you will realize just how much you do. On a larger scale too, we do quite a lot.

We give most of our time to our jobs or businesses and also spend time with our families. We also like to take some time for ourselves to refresh the body, mind, and spirit.

Then there are the larger goals, dreams, and desires that we seek to fulfill. These can be plentiful and we strive to achieve them in any way we can. As such, we undertake so much stuff.

But no matter what we are doing, at the end of the day, we do it because we seek happiness. At the core of our efforts is the desire to be happy in every moment of our lives. Unfortunately, though, the reality is that happiness is often elusive.

Are You Happy?

I see many people today, going about their days, without a single smile on their faces. Their lives have come to become robotic and monotonous. They don't actually want to do what they are doing. Happiness eludes these people.

I see many people who are left alone by their loved one and they crumble under a mountain of emotions. Happiness eludes these people too.

I see many people who are without direction in life and all they face is anxiety and stress. They feel like they will never really "make it". These people don't find happiness too.

Similarly, something or the other keeps us from being truly happy. We feel this void inside us that just doesn't seem to get filled. Then we come to question life itself and the brutality it subjects us to. We say things like "life is not fair" and this and that.

The fact is, you can't really be happy if you don't have clarity. You can't be happy unless you accept the fact that adversities are a part of life and they are actually necessary to make you wiser. You can't find happiness unless you learn to let go of the baggage that has been holding you back. You can't feel happy unless you have the courage to use your iron-clad will to shape your life the way you want.

It's just this one short life we have. Why waste it with a perpetual frown on your face?

If not unhappy, can it be consider happy? 😎
