Am Unimaginable Low In Life

I had a dream last night, image

that was so not funny.

I dreamt my house rent expired and I had no money for rent.

Now picture this; In real life, I have a terrible caretaker who's so stupid that he sees others as stupid. He'll just get up one morning and start dishing out quit notices like he's a madman. I feel he thinks it's a cool game he can sit down and laugh at every time he remembers the look on an occupants face when landed an untimely quit-notice. Until he landed himself in a court case that had to involve the help of the Landlord, who resides in the States.

Anyways, back to the dream.

I dreamt my stupid caretaker driven to a maddening excitement knocked on my door at exactly 3pm on a Monday evening to tell me that, that very date and time, my rent had expired and that I had to leave the house immediately, claiming he has a new occupant waiting to move in.

😲SHOCK!

Shock could not define the state I was in. Dream world felt so real at that point that I'm sure if I could, I would have cried my tears in real life.

In my stubborness and sincerely no choice of what next to do, I decided on trying to raise the money to renew my rent but as at 5:45 same day, my mad caretaker drove into the compound in the company of 7 or maybe 10 SARS officers who looked like thugs and pounded on my door to the point of breaking it.

I saw someone that had my face being dragged out of the house with threats of arrests ringing all over the place.

Note that from here on out, "I" will be replaced with "she" (second person pronoun), because that unfortunate person cannot have been me.

Her belongings were thrown out to the compound as she was not allowed to ever enter her house again. She sat herself on the ground and cried and cried and cried. No help whatsoever found her.

I dreamt that, dejected and alone she carried some of her belongings (couldn't carry all) and left. Somehow in my dream state, I knew she had nowhere to go. And truly she didn't.

Aimlessly she walked and walked and kept on walking. Tears fell on her cheeks like rain until they began to dry from sheer exhaustion. Her luggages were too heavy for one person to carry, so she bent slightly just to be able to balance both herself and the the few bags she owned and was trailing after her.

Night had already fallen when she let herself come out of the long train of thought she must have lost herself in.
With nowhere to go, she made her way to the bridges.

The bridge I saw looked so much like the bridge at Mokola round-about,Ibadan.(Only Ibadan dwellerds might know what it looks like) funny tho, I could have sworn her house was in Enugu.

And yes I know dreams can be crazy like that.

I saw her settle her belongings on a corner under that bridge and lay to rest her very tired feet and I couldn't help but think how I could give my life to get a foot rub that very instant. I know, stupid thought right?

In that dream world, I felt the despair and surrender she had resigned her life to, she probably lost her phone in the chaos but she didn't look like she cared or would have even bothered to call for help if she could.

She had lost all hopes of living
Of life
Of a good tomorrow
Of sunshine
Of happiness
Of existence.

And that was really really very sad.
Because this right here was to her a really unimaginable low to fall to.
