Help Lars to do sports again - We might be able to accomplish this with YOUR help! || Helft Lars wieder Sport machen zu können - Mit der Hilfe der STEEMIT-COMMUNITY könnte das möglich sein!

Football is more than just a sport. It is passion, joy and much more. Simply put it that way: For some people Football is the world's greatest sport and this goes for Lars too!

Which is why it is even more tragic to hear that a young talented player, can no longer perform this sport because of a serious accident. After this accident Lars' life changed dramatically.... It was his 16th birthday when he was driving his new motorbike. On this day he crashed frontal in a car and had to be taken to a hospital in a rescue helicopter. His leg had to be amputated, three days later he had brain bleeding resulting in a serious brain damage. During the first weeks the doctors said he would eventually not make it or be a nursing case for the rest of his life. But not Lars he is a fighter!

Winners never give up!

After one year of hard training, he was invited to kick-off a football game - and everyone could see the happiness in his eyes doing this again. He had to learn walking with his prosthesis. It was not just walking, in addition he lost almost all words so he had to learn talking again. To make him happy he is in need of a weatherproof sports prosthesis. Such a prosthesis is very expensive, costs are approximately €65,000 (around US$70k+) and his health insurance will not cover such a sport prosthesis. Luckily a lot of local people, local football clubs and local companies are supporting his case by donating money, but he still needs more.

When I first heard about Lars and this accident, my first thoughts have been - how can I help him? First I just thought donating myself, my second idea was asking my employer to help, idea three was to ask you guys – the great and helpful community of Steemians!

As a result I got in touch with Lars’ football club and his mother and asked them, if they are happy for me to post about this happening on steemit and if they might provide a photo of Lars holding all details in his hands.

There will also be a charity football match organized by his football club, where all the donations will be handed over. Deutsche Version

Fußball ist mehr als nur ein Sport. Es ist Leidenschaft, Zusammenhalt, Freude, und vieles mehr. Einfach gesagt: Für viele ist Fußball der geilste Sport der Welt, wie auch für Lars.

Umso tragischer ist es zu hören, das ein junger talentierter Spieler diesen Sport, wegen eines schweren Unfalls nicht mehr ausüben kann! Der Vorfall ereignete sich an seinem 16. Geburtstag. An diesem Tag hatte Lars einen schweren Moped Unfall, wo er frontal mit einem Auto zusammen geprallt ist. Per Rettungshubschrauber wurde Lars in ein nahegelegenes Krankenhaus transportiert. Bereits an der Unfallstelle hatte er sehr viel Blut verloren, weshalb sein Zustand zu diesem Zeitpunkt kritisch war. Daraufhin musste sein linkes Bein amputiert werden und 3 Tage später hatte er eine Gehirnblutung... In der ersten Woche haben die Ärzte gemeint, dass er es möglicherweise nicht überlebt oder sein Leben lang ein Pflegefall bleibt. Aber Lars ist ein Kämpfer!

Sieger geben niemals auf!

Nach 1 jähriger Abstinenz und hartem Training hat er den Anstoß bei einem Fußballspiel ausführen dürfen und man hat ihm die Lebensfreude ansehen können. Er musste nicht nur das Gehen mit der Prothese erlernen, sondern auch Wörter und das Sprechen wieder lernen.

Lars größter Wunsch ist eine besondere wasserfeste Sportprothese, mit der er auch wieder Sport betreiben kann. Alles in allem kostet diese rund 65000 €, die Krankenkasse übernimmt diese Kosten jedoch nicht.

Als ich von Lars seinem Unfall erfahren habe, waren meine ersten Gedanken - Wie kann ich helfen? Zuerst kam die Idee meine Familie zu fragen, meine zweite Idee meinen Arbeitgeber zu fragen und die dritte Idee war es euch die Steemian community um Hilfe zu bitten! Und ich glaube wir als community könnten mit am meisten bewirken!
