Feeling like a failure?
There will be seasons in your life when all you can do is simply make it through the day. During those times it’s easy to feel beaten down and disheartened. And if this season stretches on for any length of time, waves of doubt start eroding away your confidence as quickly as the tides move the sand on a beach.
A person can only take so much until they begin to question their ability to survive the trial they’re in.
If this describes you right now, take heart. The storm is never bigger than God. And those waves of doubt that want to mark you as a failure are empty lies.
When we choose to place our hope and trust in God, we are never truly devastated by troubles. When we surrender each moment, seeking God for the strength and wisdom to weather a storm, we are never a failure.Sometimes it’s not the winds of adversity that deafen our ears to God; sometimes it our own screams of panic. That’s why He tells us in Psalm 46:10 to be still and know that He is God.
We need to be quiet so we can hear Him remind us His promise in Philippians 4:13 that we truly have the strength to face anything.
It takes faith to look at the demands of this life and be still. It takes courage to stand strong in the promises of God while the storm rages on. You can exercise that faith and you can have that courage, or you can listen to your doubt and screams of panic while living in defeat and brokenness.
The simple truth is that life is hard sometimes and there will be circumstances where you have no choice about their effects on your life. But what you can choose is how you will get through it.No matter where you find yourself today, a simple prayer for strength and a request for God to quiet your soul are a great place to start. The more you pray, the smaller the storm feels because the more your eyes are opened to the greatness of our God.
