Movie Review: The Babysitter

in #life7 years ago

It's a Netflix night and we want something different that is overly violent, weird and a little funny. We decided to go for the Netflix produced movie, "The Babysitter". This is the kind of movie that shows me we have to have a video log when Josie and I watch a movie. She hated it. I loved it. OK. I will give her a bit of credit. This was not the, "Of Mice and Men" of our generation.

The movie was released in 2017. It was written by Brian Duffield and directed by McG (yes, that is his name...no joke). It stars Judah Lewis and Samara Weaving. The movie received a 75% on rottentomatoes.com. You can look at the preview below.

The movie is about a boy named Cole, who is around thirteen, and is kind of a wussy. Since he is really smart he is, of course, bullied at school. His parents want to go out one night and decide to hire this hot babysitter, named Bee, to take care of him. This babysitter extremely hot. Long legs, tight butt, blond hair and a mouth that could suck a a golf ball through a garden hose. But she really is not the most responsible person in the world. Right when the parents leave, she sends the boy to bed and invites her friends over. It is so hard these days to find a good baby sitter. Oh, yeah. She and her friends were satanists and decided to hold a ritual sacrifice to call upon a demon. The boy saw this and, as you can suspect, the party were not all that thrilled with it. So they decide to kill him.

Of course, this wimpy, scrawny little boy, who could not defend himself against other thirteen years old boys, managed to single-handily kill these physically well-developed satanists one at a time. You could tell they were in really good shape because one never had his shirt on. He goes through the bad folk one by one until he has a final battle with the hot babysitter (I guess she was the leader, but who knows).

This movie is not going to change the social fabric of this country, I can tell you. But it was a load of fun. The violence was plentiful and cheesy to the point of funny. The dialog was absolutely terrible which added to the charm. It was just a really fun movie. Josie thought it was stupid but was laughing and did not want to turn it off. It kind of reminded my of "Dale and Tucker vs. Evil" (a must see as far as I am concerned).

The movie was violent and, typical of getting a bunch of teenagers together, had some sexual situations. That being said, made sure little Billy is in bed before firing this one up. I think those who have that dark sense of humor (like me) will probably get a kick out of this one. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

By the way, don't turn it off just because the credits are rolling. You will miss something.
