6FIRE OUTBREAK IN UNIVERSITY OF UYO

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemians!
On the 12th of January, 2018 at about 3:55:08pm to be precise, the annex campus of the university of Uyo was in an uproar as students from different angles were running towards the same direction. I was caught in the race and with no delay I joined the race. On getting to the centre of attraction, I saw students battling to put off the fire from a burning tricycle commonly known as 'Keke' . After about some minutes of throwing sand from different angles by students, the fire was finally put off.

Fortunately, I was able to meet with and interview the tricycle rider. He said and I quote him:"I suspect the fire outbreak was as a result of overheating from the engine".

Therefore I take it upon myself to create an awareness concerning automobile/engine overheating and how to prevent it so as not to result in fire outbreak.

WHAT IS OVERHEATING

Overheating is the rise in temperature of an engine from the normal range. Possible causes of overheating could be;
× that the radiator isn't working properly.
× that the water pump isn't pumping.
× ignoring the low oil light.
× defective or faulty thermostat.

How To Stop An Engine From Overheating.

If you notice that your car is starting to overheat, taking the following steps can help prevent harm to your vehicle until you can repair your cooling system.

  1. Pull over
  2. Open the hood to allow heat to disperse
    faster.
  3. Do not open the radiator pressure cap (the
cap on top of the radiator) while the engine is
    hot.
  4. Check the coolant reservoir tank and fill if
    needed.

.... Pouring a coolant into the reservoir tank.

  1. Look for a leak in the cooling system.
  2. Determine whether to drive on or call for help.
