How to be creative, for noobs
So recently, I've been in a position when I was in the "mood to work" but can't seem to find, what I want to work in. It was in much regards like a creative block for me. This went on for a few days before I've had enough of it. A few days pass and I was able to come up with these few hacks that I was able to perform to be able to stay creative.
Maintain an "idea book"
Okay, you might have heard it before but here's how my version of it works. For those of you who don't know what an idea book is, it's simply a book that you maintain and write all the ideas in. No matter how crazy or weird the ideas might be. Continuing, this is how I do it. I'll just make a list of stuff I wanna do and divide them by categories. For example, I'll have a list of stuff I wanna write or a list of stuff I wanna draw, etc. While the idea sounds really simple, it serves as a good place to start looking into, at times when you simply don't know what to do.
Just talk to someone
Yes, this might sound stupid but it's really effective at times. Just go and talk to someone, it's really as easy as it sounds. The idea behind this step is very simple. While discussing your ideas with someone or listening to what their thoughts are, your mind will manufacture its own version of it. Just make sure to write them down somewhere so that you can have a reference point later.
Simplify your life
There are a lot of things you do every day and there are simply a lot of things that you can significantly improve upon. Take one of those tasks, something you have to do consistently every day to a point it feels like a grind and try to improvise on it. The point here isn't about succeeding but about trying since it might be a great starting point to find that creative spark you've been missing.
This list isn't perfect and it might not work for all of you. It's just something I personally follow. If you have something to add, I would love to hear from you guys.
Peace,
Harman K.
