The Venezuelan Andes
The region of the Venezuelan Andes is conformed by the states Táchira, Mérida and Trujillo, is one of the parts of Venezuela that presents greater contrasts of climate and vegetation, which offers a great variety of ecological floors to which to adapt. In the ecological floors there is a formation of different sequences of environmental or ecological units, defined mainly by their vegetation. In each ecological unit, there are particular environmental conditions of temperature and precipitation that can be associated with characteristic agricultural systems, for example, the wheat and forage systems in the Páramo ecological units or the coffee system in the Selva Semicaducifolia unit. The presence in the geographical space of this environmental diversity allows the Andean states to present a great variety of agricultural crops with different production systems, which in turn, have been transforming some of these units.
