Five Healing Mantras To Help Handle Stress
As we grow up, the amount of stressors that we encounter increases. We have more things to deal with and less time to deal with it all in. from work to finances, to our relationships, we are surrounded by stressors and potential stressors.
This is inimical to good health on the long run and, therefore, must be coun- tered before there is a build up of stress. To do this, you have to be deliberate, pick your battles, make the right lifestyle choices, live within your means, learning to take the good and the baden stride. Herein are five mantras that can help stave offa build-up 0 stress and declutter your mind.
- Nothing is permanent
The flipside of this is that everything is temporary. Be it good or bad. There is an end even if it is not immediately in sight. That thing that seems like a big deal, a big issue now would most probably be a non-issue a wee , a mont or a year from now. The tragedies that befall one might seem so debilitating and might threaten to overwhelm one, but you can fight this off by reminding yourself that it would pass.
Tell yourself there is light at the end of
the tunnel.
- It is okay to be still
We live in a fast-paced world where a newly-built technology gets old in weeks. Where products go into transition all the time. Where people seem to be in a never-ending race to meet that next target, make that next dollar etc. There is a need to stop and ask yourself:
Do you need to be moving all the time?
You do not. You need to prioritise
not moving as much as you prioritise moving. You need to take time out to savour your rest and happy moments. Each achievement should be savoured, notjust put on the shelf in preparation for another race to the next milestone.
At some point in life, you would have to realise that having too much iron in the fire at the same time is counter- productive and stressful. Focus on a thing at a time, do your best and let the chips fall where they may.
- I love myself
This point can’t be stressed enough. It is important to love yourself immensely. There are no ifs and buts when it comes to self-love. You genuinely owe to yourselfa bundle full of love and utmost care.
You can write that a list of those things that you love about yourself. It is always good to take pride in yourself as this keep you going when you need a boost.
- Things do work out
Trust the process. You should not stress over things that are obviously outside of your control. Believe that things will eventually level out and come together. Just do the best that you can. You have to realize that everything takes time. Some issues need time to be settled. And if things do not work as exactly like you want them to, take it in stride, see what lessons you have learnt and move on.
- I deserve to do things I love
Sometimes the only thing your mind requires to get out of a difficult situation is a little distraction. The distraction
could be as small as filling a colouring book. But the most thoughtful distraction is to pamper yourself as it serves two purposes: as a distraction and as a self-love process.
You could do a skincare/body care pampering routine or take a bubble bath or could simply go out for a walk.
Things you can try:
Buy a journal and list the things that
you love about yourself.Give yourself a treat. You can take
yourself to dinner.
