Hand crafted things are not as well made as they used to be in most cases.
At least things are still being made by hand. I wonder if the artisans of yore are the "makers" of today. I can make almost anything with an Arduino or a Pi. Don't give me wood though, I'm likely to have less fingers afterwards....😲

We are being kept too busy surviving and fighting distraction to hone and develop our creative skills. It goes along with our consumption programming that it is easier to throw out a shirt and buy another one , than to sew on a button. Each of us of much creativity stored in our consciousness, but we lack the concentration and serenity to focus on it. Enjoyed your post and the thoughtfulness it triggered.
I miss the older rocking horse. I might have to ride up to Amish Country for any more toys.....
