3 great lessons churches can learn from Marvel movie
We take a look at what this blockbuster movie has to teach the Christians and the church as a whole.
Just so you know, there are at least three great things that churches can learn from critically acclaimed 'Black Panther.'
They are:
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me”
Remember that commandment? Well, we see this play out in the movie when the characters start to idolize a substance called 'vibranium.'
In fact, Black Panther’s Wakanda revolves and depends on this rare metal, making the substance really important to them.
As a church, we are reminded to have no gods before God, not money, or fame. Nothing should ever take God’s place in our lives. See Exodus 20:3–5 and Matthew 7:24–27.
Love your neighbor as yourself
This is a command that we see throughout the Bible but it is something that we rarely see play out in real life.
This reality is displayed in the fictional country of Wakanda when they choose to keep their technological advancements for themselves instead of helping other needy countries.
The movie is a reminder that we, Christians, should not forget to help others, sharing God’s love with others. See Matthew 5:13–16
We are all important to God
In the movie, everyone is respected and clearly important to the nation.
Unfortunately, this is not usually the case in a lot of churches thanks to discrimination, social classes e.t.c.
Galatians 3:28 says, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
The church needs to emulate and treat her members the way citizens in the beautiful country of Wakanda are treated.
