RE: Tales of grim humour: I've been to Casualty
If you eat only sandwiches and hot dogs, then of course you can quickly get stomach inflammation. In the best case, it will be gastritis, and in the worst case, an ulcer. This is very bad.
You must eat soups, avoid spicy dishes and generally need to follow a diet.
I wish you a quick recovery and no longer hurt.
Thank you. I am quite careful what I eat but I think I am just too stressed at the moment
Some spices are good though. For instance, cayenne pepper helps prevent and reduce the pain of ulcers.
Hell, NO! Cayenne pepper is pure torture. As for the people who recommend apple cider vinegar, all I can say is I hope they get an ulcer and try that themselves
Cayenne pepper inhibits production of the acid that causes gastric ulcers so for ulcers it is beneficial. I don't know about other stomach problems though.
Please cite this as a viable treatment only if you have personal experience of gastric ulceration and the effects of cayenne pepper
I wouldn't go so far as to call it a treatment. It's just that the nature of cayenne pepper makes it unlikely to cause or exacerbate ulcers and it has components that may ease symptoms as it counteracts the acid that typically cause them. I'm speaking of consuming it in normal dietary amounts. Too much of anything may have undesired effects.
